My PHP 500 Worth of Food at World Topps
Aside from airline seat sale, for the past few months I’m getting hooked with purchasing vouchers and discount coupons from group buying sites. I already purchased some from these group buying sites and I must say it was so far so good. I haven’t experienced any bad thing when using those coupons so recently, I just purchased a PHP 250 Gift Certificate for any choice of food with free iced tea at World Topps which is valued at PHP 500. The restaurant is just along Valero St. which is very accessible from where I worked to.
World Topps is a globally-inspired restaurant that serves international toppings over rice, noodles, desserts and more.
I shared the voucher with my office mate since it seems the P500 worth of food is totally too much for me. By the way, read the terms and conditions of the voucher first before purchasing one. When we got there, only few diners were in. They also have karaoke area on the second floor and it seemed most of the guests were up stairs. We gave our voucher and asked for the menu, then took our orders.
We had to limit our orders to PHP 500 to avoid additional expenses. We ordered French Fries, Crispy Sisig Topps (with Iced tea) for me, Chap Che Korean Noodles for my office mate and American Mango Crumble for our dessert.
Our food arrived after awhile.
I like how it was tasted, but there are only few pork meat and most are fatback / pork rinds (whichever is the correct term for “taba”). Indeed, the seasoning made this dish flavorful.
I was not familiar of this dish until my office mate told me so. Chap chae is one of the most popular noodle dishes in Korea which is made from sweet potato noodles. It is stir fried in sesame oil with various vegetables, sometimes served with beef, and flavoured with soy sauce, and sweetened with sugar. It is usually served garnished with sesame seeds and slivers of chili.
This is outstanding! I like how the fresh mango, ice cream and chocolate syrup combined together. The taste is so irresistible. I might do this at home when I got time to hit the grocery.
The food and place was all good. The staff are very attentive and very kind. It was a very good deal, indeed.
P.S. Sales and discounts are really great help on saving. But let’s also be mindful if these are really necessary before we purchased them. 🙂
