Circus Hostel, My Stay at Berlin’s Most Loved Boutique Hostel
Choosing Circus Hostel Berlin as my accommodation was undoubtedly made my 3-day trip to Berlin extra special. Not just a place stay but this charming boutique hostel was where I relaxed and planned my adventures in the city. Located next to Rosenthaler Platz U-Bahn station, the hostel is within walking distance to many of the city of Berlin’s famous sights and became my sanctuary where I was able to unwind after each day’s adventures. The comfy setup, friendly atmosphere, and quirky circus-and-comic book theme also turned my stay here as one-of-a-kind.
After an almost 5-hour train journey from Prague, I reached Berlin in the evening. A short 10-minute bus ride from the Central Station brought me to Circus Hostel Berlin. As I entered, the friendly staff at the front desk welcomed me, making me feel instantly right at home. I then handed over my passport. Front desk swiftly checked me in. During this process, we briefly went over the facilities of the hostel and services included in my booking.
Room
At Circus Hostel Berlin, you can choose from two types of accommodation—dorm rooms and private rooms, designed to meet various preferences and budgets. Dorm rooms are available in 4-bed, 6-bed, 8-bed, and 10-bed configurations, while private rooms offer solo, twin, double, deluxe, and apartment options. The 6-bed mixed dorm room at Circus Hostel Berlin is thoughtfully designed to provide a comfortable and modern stay. Each bunk bed comes equipped with a cozy pillow, duvet, and crisp bed linen for a restful night’s sleep. Individual reading lights are also provided. The dorm room also has sufficient locker space for safeguarding your belongings. Please note to bring your own padlock, or you have the option to purchase one at the reception area. Not only does the room boast modern amenities, but it also maintains a high standard of cleanliness, creating a spacious and welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Facilities
Circus Hostel Berlin offers a range of services and facilities for guests to enjoy. Each floor is equipped with communal bathrooms and showers. On the ground floor, you’ll discover a welcoming cafe, the 24-hour reception area, and the common lounge. For those seeking a refreshing drink, a bar is conveniently located on the lower ground. The hostel also provides complimentary Wi-Fi access, free luggage storage, and helpful travel assistance. Additionally, guests can participate in various guided tours and activities organized by the hostel. Despite missing out on the Beer Tour on my first night due to a late arrival, I’m eager to make it next time and explore the other exciting events being offered.
The hostel provides a breakfast buffet available from 8:00am to 1:00pm. I was pleasantly surprised by the extended time as I’m not a fan of waking up early just for breakfast. The breakfast buffet includes bread, waffle, cold cuts, spreads, and hard-boiled egg. There’s also a salad station. The breakfast offering also includes a choice of drink either coffee or juice.
Circus Hostel Berlin offered a clean and comfortable haven during my stay in the city. The spacious and cozy dorm room, coupled with outstanding amenities, made my experience truly enjoyable. The hostel’s friendly hospitality and overall charm undeniably place it as the most beloved boutique hostel in Berlin.
