Red Planet Amorsolo, a Value Hotel in Makati
If you’re looking for a place to stay in Makati City that is easy on the pocket, I would suggest Red Planet Hotels. It was one weekend of July when our group stayed in one of their branches in Makati City. Because it also coincided with our Makati Food Tour, we picked their Amorsolo branch that is approximate to the restaurants that were part of the food event.
Getting to Red Planet Hotel Amorsolo was easy. It is conveniently located in Urban Avenue. The hotel is very recognisable with its logo placed on top of the building façade. The hotel is nearby the central business district. It is close to several business establishments, restaurants and fast-food chains. A hospital and a fire station are also nearby.
Rooms at Red Planet Amorsolo
The standard check in time is at 2:00 PM. It was an hour late when we arrived at the hotel because of the traffic jam in the metro. Checking in was smooth. We presented our IDs and voilà, we’ve got our respected key cards.
All rooms are pretty standard. Room rate starts from PHP 1,200. You can have a room with two single beds (Twin Room) or with a double bed (Double Room). Our room has two single beds. It is air-conditioned. It has a private toilet and bath. Soap and towels are also provided. The room also has a LCD cable TV, a safety vault and… a hair dryer! The room also has a desk, which I’ve found very useful for those who travel with their laptop.
For a value hotel, I anticipated that the room would be small but it was recompensed with pleasant room features. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean. It has all the basic necessities for a simple hotel stay.
Just a tip, if you’ll be staying with a group you can ask for a connecting room. They have few rooms in Red Planet Hotel that are accessible from each other.
Amenities
When we arrived at the hotel on our first day, I got instantly stunned with the vibe of the lobby. The area was hip and warm. Most of the amenities can be found in the common area. There’s a lounge area, business center and a deli café.
The hotel has available Mac computers that guests can use. There’s also a photo booth that guests can have their pictures as much as they want and have it into their email instantly. They also have wall that has some board games and reading materials that are available for guests to use. There are also some merchandise for sale, if you want to buy one.
The hotel also offers a free access to Wi-Fi connection. While most of the budget hotels only provide access to the Internet at the common area, at Red Planet Hotel, Wi-Fi is available in all areas in the hotel. The Wi-Fi connection is very reliable. So when you’re planning to stay in Red Planet Hotel, bring your laptop with you and download those torrents. Take advantage of the high-speed connection! Lol!
Red Planet Amorsolo surpassed my expectation for a value hotel. The hotel provided us the highest level of comfort and convenience through its rooms, facilities and services. True enough, Red Planet Hotel is here to redefine the way guests stay in hotels. That is giving guests the all in feature without spending too much.
