A Day Tour to Pagsanjan Falls

Trolley ride experience in Los Banos, Laguna

The tour is a full-day adventure, starting early in the morning. Our group was picked up from Abraham Manila at 7:30am. Before heading to Pagsanjan Falls, we made a stop in Los Baños, Laguna, where we got to experience the unique trolley ride along the train tracks. Although I had seen this type of commute in various parts of the Philippines, it was my first time actually trying it out, and it was a truly memorable experience. As we reached the end of the track, we were greeted with a treat — a delicious slice of Buko pie, accompanied by coffee and tea. This unexpected stop added an extra layer of enjoyment to the tour, making the day even more special.

We reached Pagsanjan around 11:00am, and thanks to the well-organized tour, our boats were already ready, allowing us to start the adventure without delay. Each boat can accommodate two to three people. The journey was nothing short of mesmerizing, with captivating views all around and glimpses of locals swimming in the river, adding to the charm of the experience.

About halfway through the ride, we made a brief stop where snacks were available for purchase. Unfortunately, we didn’t bring any money with us, so we missed out on sampling the local treats. Nevertheless, the pause gave us a chance to stretch and take in the beautiful surroundings before continuing on. The final stretch of the ride was exhilarating, as we navigated the river’s twists and turns until we finally arrived at the magnificent Pagsanjan Falls.

Pagsanjan Falls, also known as Cavinti Falls locally, is a renowned destination cherished by both locals and tourists. The falls are celebrated for its breathtaking natural beauty, making it a must-see attraction. Upon arriving at the site, we boarded a bamboo raft. Then, we started passing through the powerful cascades of the falls, heading towards the intriguing Devil’s Cave. This unique experience allowed us to get up close to the magnificent waterfall and explore the cave behind it, adding an adventurous twist to the visit.

After spending about 30 minutes at the falls and exploring Devil’s Cave, we returned to our boat. Then, we started the journey back to the base site. The return trip took us around another hour, navigating through the challenging rapids. It was clear how difficult the task was for the boatmen, who worked hard to steer us safely. I highly recommend giving a tip to your boatmen at the end of the ride as a token of appreciation for their effort and skill.
