Over the Weekend at Manila Marriott Hotel
Vibe of elegance and grandeur greeted us when my friend, Elal, and me entered the lobby of Manila Marriott Hotel. It was our hotel for the weekend. We were the first to arrive and we decided to check in to our room already so we can rest for a while while waiting for the others to come. We had agendum that weekend and taking a nap for a moment will give us a little boost that could stay us longer until the wee hours. Imagine a long list of activities we have to cover over the weekend.
That weekend was jam packed of several activities to do. We were not new to such hectic schedule and I have to admit that we’re already kind of expert to manage our time whenever we have an eventful staycation.
Our agendum that weekend includes experience the Executive Lounge of the hotel, a sumptuous dinner and breakfast at Marriott Café, an afternoon of relaxation at hotel’s Jacuzzi and outdoor pool, watch a play at Newport Theater and of course – KTV night with the group.
Marriott Hotel is situated in Newport City in Pasay City, which is just adjacent to Ninoy Aquino International Airport. The hotel is a great place to stay if you want near the airport. It is a place suitable for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel is located within an entertainment district. It is part of a nonstop-integrated tourist area that includes a casino, hotels, shopping mall, cinema and theater.
Rooms
We first checked in to our rooms. Manila Marriott Hotel features excellent accommodation units that are well furnished and stylishly designed. Rooms at Manila Marriott Hotel are categorized to Superior, Deluxe, Executive and Executive Deluxe.
Our room was a Deluxe Room. The room has two double beds. It was air-conditioned. The room has private bathroom with bathtub. The bathroom was well fitted with bathroom amenities. The room also has LED Smart TV, safety deposit boxes, iron and ironing board and closets.
The room was lavish. It was beautifully appointed providing a homey feeling.
Dining
The hotel currently has 6 places for dining that includes CRU Steakhouse, Marriott Café, Greatroom, Mian, Crema and Allegro. Among these restaurants, it was Marriott Café that we were able to try twice, one for dinner and one for breakfast.
Marriott Cafe offers delicious buffet serving international fare as well as local Manila favorites. The restaurant is available all day.
After having our dinner, our group went immediately to the Newport Theater to watch Bituing Walang Ningning. Our tickets were courtesy of PSST magazine. Right after the play, we went to a Karaoke Bar to sing along until dawn.
Facilities
Manila Marriot Hotel has a great list of facilities that they offer to guests. The list includes a fitness center, outdoor pool, steam room, hot tub, sauna, massage and spa. The hotel also an executive lounge that gives guests an access to exclusive amenities and services.
The lounge is located at the topmost floor of the hotel giving a panoramic view of the golf course. The lounge is designed to pamper guests. Access to executive lounge gives guests complimentary benefits, concierge and business center services, wired and wireless internet access, easy check in and out and usage of work station and boardroom.
One can enjoy continental breakfast at the lounge from 6:00 AM to 10:30 AM. They also have day long and afternoon tea where coffee, tea, sodas with dry snacks are available. Hors d’oeuvres is available from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM for unlimited cocktails and alcoholic beverages while evening snacks is available from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM for simple yet delectable plates of snacks.
It was the next day when we were able to experience the other facilities of the hotel. We went for a swim on their outdoor pool – and spent a little time at their Jacuzzi area, just to try it before we head out.
Spending a night in Manila Marriott Hotel was definitely too short for we to be able to cover all the superb facilities that the hotel has. It wasn’t just the rooms that we enjoyed our time the most but at their exclusive facilities as well. Our group totally enjoyed hanging around at the Executive Lounge. The service and hospitality of the staff made our stay even more pleasing.
Our weekend while we were at the Newport area was totally an eventful one for us. From dining in to watching a play to karaoke bar, there was no place greater to stay and spend time to loosen up after an eventful day than in Manila Marriott Hotel.
