1Bataan Integrated Transport System, The Fastest Ferry Service to Bataan and Manila
One of the things that discouraged me from visiting Bataan before was the long land travel to get there. By bus, the ride from Manila to Bataan could take up to 4 hours. But good thing a partnership between a transportation company and the province of Bataan, 1Bataan Integrated Transport System, has launched the operation of ferry boat services between Manila and Bataan. It’s the fastest ferry service to Bataan and Manila definitely cutting down the trip to just 1 hour. Hearing about this great news made me excited in finally visiting the province of Bataan.
1Bataan Integrated Transport System (ITS) is a product of a public-private-partnership between the Provincial Government of Bataan and Magic Leaf, a company with years of experience in transportation industry. The ferry operation between Manila and Bataan aimed to support and promote the growth and sustainability of the province by providing better access for trade and promoting tourism. Ferry Service to Bataan
It was few weeks ago when my friends and I went to Bataan and was able to try this ferry service. We had an early call time because we were going to take the first trip. On weekdays, they have four schedules between Manila and Bataan while on weekends, they run two schedules for this ferry service.
MV XGC Express – Ferry Trip to Bataan
MV XGC is the ferry-boat that services the trip between Manila and Bataan. The ferry-boat can accommodate up to 108 passengers. It is similar to the boat used in ferry trips between Hong Kong and Macau. The ferry-boat has air-conditioning and comfortable recliners seats. Seats in each row also has enough leg room. Toilet is also available, which is at the back of the ferry. There’s also free Wi-Fi access that I found reliable throughout the entire trip. TV screens are also available for passengers who want to watch a movie. There’s also water dispenser.
The ferry ride felt safe and secure. Standard safety procedures are shown in the mounted televisions before sailing. Life vests are also available at the bottom of each seat in case of emergency.
The entire trip was comfortable and convenient for me. I actually didn’t notice that we had already reached Bataan. I was just starting to doze off when the captain announced that we were already arriving in Port of Capinpin in Orion. That was really a fast ferry service to Bataan.
We were greeted by a staff from 1Bataan Integrated Transport System upon arriving. The company offers free shuttle service to different drop-off points in Bataan including Mariveles. Our group was going to Mariveles so a shuttle van was arranged for us. From Orion, travel time to Mariveles is 1 hour.
