Experience Exclusivity at Pico de Loro Cove

Nothing was more rewarding than spending my first staycation this year at Pico de Loro Cove. I had never thought of visiting this admired property too soon but I was so lucky to be given a privilege to visit this upscale destination and spend a weekend along with my fellow travel friends.

Located in Nasugbu, Batangas, Pico de Loro Cove is a classy residential resort located inside Hamilo Coast. Hamilo Coast is a spacious property that has wide coastline, rich marine life and abundant wildlife and several coves including its first resort town development that is the Pico De Loro Cove. Pico de Loro Cove is composed of the Pico de Loro Beach and Country Club, Pico Sands Hotel and the Condominiums.

Pico de Loro Cove is located 70 kilometers from Metro Manila. It took us 90-minute travel time to reach the swanky resort town using the Cavitex-Ternate-Nasugbu Route.

It was around 4:00 PM when we had arrived at the resort. We were greeted by the staff and were taken directly to the reception desk for our room check in. Checking in was a breeze and we were able to get to our appointed rooms right away.

Staying at Pico Sands Hotel

Pico Sands Hotel is where members and their accompanied guests can check in while inside the premise of Pico de Loro Cove. The hotel is seven story and is home to 154 rooms that feature thoughtful contemporary amenities. Guests can choose a room that has a view of either the mountains or the lagoon. The rooms come into following types: Standard, Superior, Deluxe, Premier, Corner Deluxe and Penthouse Lofts.

Our group stayed at the hotel’s Premier Room. The room was spacious. The room looked nice with its straightforward interior. It has two queen beds. The room is equipped with modern amenities. It has a spacious bathroom, a TV, and a fridge. Our room also has a balcony that provided us a captivating view of the lagoon.

Experiencing the Amenities of Pico de Loro Beach and Country Club

Besides the pleasant accommodation, one that thing that I also liked about Pico de Loro Cove is the variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Guests will never get bored when they spend their getaways here because an access to Pico de Loro Beach and Country Club will provide guests remarkable experiences to its well appointed amenities and to its broad range of sports, leisure and recreational activities.

Country Club Pool

First on my list that I was really looking into is the outdoor pool at the country club. I’m a sucker for a nice looking pool – and lap pool and infinity pool, so imagine how I appreciated spending our longer hours at the pool area after we had finished our breakfast at the nearby Lagoa Restaurant.

The pool is a multi-level pool. It is strategically located few walks away from Pico Sands Hotel and just next to the man-made lake. The nice surroundings added up to the attractiveness of the pool area.

Sunset at Saint Therese of the Child Jesus Chapel

The most scenic and dramatic part of Pico de Loro is the Saint Therese of the Child Jesus Chapel. The chapel offers a dramatic sunset and a stunning view of the cove below, making it perfect for weddings and other special events.

Well-known architect Carlos Arnaiz designed the chapel. It is a glass paneled chapel that is rested on a hill overlooking the coastline. To allow that sense of calmness, the chapel is perfectly situated distant enough from the other establishments of Pico de Loro Cove.

The Beach and the Beach Club

Pico de Loro has a nice beach with light brown sand. The shoreline is wide. It has several sun deck chairs and huts available for guests use. I was interested in going to a leisure walk from end to end but that didn’t happen because of time constriction – and the sun was unbearable that day, too. But that kind of weather was nice, because the sun gave us a perfect sunshine to appreciate the beach of Pico de Loro Cove.

The beach is allotted into two sections; the first section is the Pico Beach that is accessible to all guests while the second section is a private beach that is exclusive to beach club members. Aside from an access to the secluded lengthy coastline, the area also has private swimming pools that fronting the sea. There’s also a restaurant and roof deck bar within the beach club area.

Other Facilities and Recreational Activities

Pico de Loro Cove is also a perfect home for water-sports, adventures and amenities for entertainment, sports and relaxation. Pico de Loro offers water-sports activities for guests to enjoy like scuba diving, snorkeling, jet skiing, boating, kayaking, windsurfing, and island and cove hopping.

Pico de Loro Cove also has several facilities like karaoke, game rooms, play area for kids, gym and dance studio, and basketball, tennis, badminton and squash courts. The resort also offers other outdoor activities like hiking or trail running, biking and beach volleyball and football. When it comes to relaxation, Pico de Loro Cove also offers massage services and spa treatments.

Dining Like a King

Food is not a worry when you spend your vacation in Pico de Loro Cove. The resort has an extravagant selection. The resort offers tasty, delicious and relishing dishes, may it be American, Italian, Filipino or Asian. Certainly, you’ll never get hungry when inside Pico de Loro Cove because the choices for places to eat are extensive. Pico de Loro Cove has several restaurants such as Pico Restaurant and Bar, Grab n Go, B&B, Lagoa, Brisa Bar, Reef Bar and Sun Coral Café.

Among these restaurants, we were able to get to Pico Restaurant and Bar for our afternoon snack, Reef Bar for our dinner, Lagoa for our breakfast and Sun Coral Café for our lunch. All of these restaurants serve sumptuous and good food.

Dinner at Reef Bar

Breakfast Buffet at Lagoa

Lunch at Sun Coral Cafe

I personally like our experience in Reef Bar because it was a dinner by the beach. Who wouldn’t want that? It’s a once in a while dining experience; it was by the beach and having your favorite grilled dishes under the moonlight. Moreover, the restaurant that served the most outstanding food for me was from the Sun Coral Cafe. Well, I’m biased because what they served to us for lunch is Filipino Food. The restaurant also has one of the best desserts that I’ve ever tasted, which is the Pan Choco Gateau.

Our group felt so grateful to be given the occasion to visit the resort and had a first-hand experience of what exclusivity, comfort and luxury is. Our stay was short but this exclusive destination provided us with full convenience, privacy and comfort. But aside from comfort and exclusivity, Pico de Loro Cove is also a place to get involved with several interesting activities and adventures. Truly, it shows that this resort is a perfect place may you want to spend days of leisure, solitude or adventure.
