Dorsett Kuala Lumpur, a Quick Staycation in the City
It was my last night in Kuala Lumpur when I transferred hotel and stayed at Dorsett Kuala Lumpur. It was already 4 days since I arrived in the city and started touring around. And since I’ve already had enough places and attractions visited for this trip, I thought it would be nicer if I’ll just spend my last day by having a staycation. I thought of just staying inside the hotel, relaxing and enjoying the best of its amenities and facilities. Gladly, I was staying at Dorsett Kuala Lumpur and I thought it was a perfect place for that. And indeed, it was.
After I had presented my passport and filled up the form with my personal details, the front desk officer briefed me about my room and the hotel facilities. She also apologized for an on-going construction and renovation that time. But that wasn’t a problem to me. In fact, I didn’t feel any hitch that could make my stay less pleasant. She then handed my key card to my room.
Room
The hotel currently has 319 deluxe rooms inclusive of 27 suites. All rooms are tastefully refurbished. My room was a Dorsett Room. You may check room rate and availability here.
The room has a relaxed vibe that features a contemporary style. It has a warm and inviting décor that is matched with modern facilities. My room has twin beds. It has a spacious and clean bathroom provided with complimentary bath amenities. The room also has a mini sofa area. It also has a working desk. The entire room was huge. I also had a pretty nice view of the famous Petronas Towers. Well, but I must say it was a just a sneak view.
The room is also equipped with LED TV, direct dial and voice mail system phones, in-room electronic safe box, minibar, coffee and tea making facilities, iron and ironing board among others.
Generally, I liked the room. It was a perfect base for me to have my much-desired vacation. Well, the last part of my vacation in Kuala Lumpur. It was comfy. It was amazingly good. I immediately felt the warmth and comfort that I needed for this staycation.
Facilities
The hotel also boasts three dining places. They have Cellini’s Italian Restaurant for a more intimate lunch and dinner, Windows Café and Lounge if you want a place to unwind, have some coffee or enjoy the entertainment in the evening and Checker’s Café for an all-day dining offering excellent buffet spreads and some a la carte.
It was Checker’s Café that I was able to try. It was during breakfast since guests are provided with complimentary breakfast buffet when checked in. The buffet spread was vast in choices. There are local breakfast favorites, pastries, breads, desserts and other dishes. Some local Asian fare is also available. There are also stations for eggs and beverages. It was just too sad that I have to cut short my enjoyment with the buffet breakfast since I had to leave early already for my flight out of Kuala Lumpur.
It was a short stay. The staycation was so brief but it was a pleasant one. The hotel is admirable and enjoyable place to stay while in the city because of its magnificent rooms and excellent amenities. It provided me a wonderful accommodation making my vacation even more rewarding. It was indeed a perfect place to treat myself for a staycation before leaving Kuala Lumpur.
