Get Discounted Hotel Rates for your Next Staycation with Traveloka App
Because summer is just around the corner, my mom asked me if we would be having a summer outing. With a big trip coming up for me next month, I couldn’t be able to afford to treat my family for an out of town trip. But I still wanted to spend a vacation with them so I thought how about having a staycation instead. Using my favorite booking app, Traveloka, I checked for available hotels for my preferred date. Luckily, the app had a big promotion and I was able to score a discounted hotel.
I’ve been using Traveloka app for some time now. The first time I used it is when I was also looking for a place that I could spend for a weekend staycation. I was able to get a huge discount from that booking so from then on, I already use the app for booking hotels for my staycation and also for my travels. I always look out for the best deals online so this booking app is really a great travel essential for me.
What is Traveloka?
Traveloka is the best travel app to find discounted and promo rates for hotels and flights plus exclusive travel deals for app users. The app was founded in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2012 and it is now expanding its reach by operating in six countries including the Philippines.
How to Find Discounted Rates?
Traveloka always releases a weekly promo so it’s easy to score discount when booking for hotels. They have different promos weekly with coupon codes to use. These codes can be found through their website, Facebook page, and mobile app home screen but these promotion codes are mostly only available to use through the mobile app so you need to download the Traveloka App on your phone. To apply the discount, simply input the ongoing coupon code on the payment page, and then it’ll show the total discounted price. Depending on the promo, you can score sweet deals that can be up to 50%.
How to Book Hotel using Traveloka App?
Now, let’s proceed on how to book hotels using the Traveloka App. The platform is pretty easy to understand. The homepage of the app has sections for Flights, Hotels, on-going promo, my account and My Booking. I suggest registering for an account so it’ll be easy to retrieve information when booking and of course, to be up to date of the latest promo from Traveloka.
Search Hotel
To search for hotels, fill in destination or landmark. If you already have a hotel in mind just key in the hotel name. Then, add a check-in date and duration of the stay. Also input the number of guest and room. I put in Pasig City at the destination since I wanted to spend our staycation nearby home. After submitting, a list of available hotels appeared on the search page. The result can be sorted and filtered based on the price, ratings, facilities and accommodation type. There’s also an option to show luxury or budget hotel, which I found useful.
Select Hotel
From the search page, select your preferred hotel and you will be directed to the hotel page showing information of the facilities, ratings and reviews. Then, the list of available room types with their rates and inclusions. From there, you can already choose which room to book. Room rates already show the final price and inclusive of taxes. This is one thing I love about Traveloka because it displays the price upfront.
I originally wanted to book a hotel in Ortigas Center but when I checked Privato Hotel, I found out that the rates are better. The Deluxe Double Queen Room that is good for four persons originally costs Php4,000 but with Traveloka, the rate was slashed off to Php3,000. That’s a good deal already! But not only that, Traveloka app has an on-going promotion that time. I used a promotion code and I was able to get the room for only Php2,000. That was 50% off from the original hotel rate.
Book Hotel
After choosing the hotel room, you will then be directed to your booking page showing the booking details and contact information. Fill in all contact information and guest details or simply log in to your account to retrieve your information quickly. Choose if the booking is for you or to another person. If you have special requests, click it and place your request. Make sure that all details are correct before proceeding with payment.
After completing the booking details, submit next to review the hotel room and price details. Then click continue to payment to proceed.
Payment
Traveloka offers different payment options. Booking can be paid through credit or debit card. It can also be settled through bank counters such as BDO, BPI and Metrobank or pay it over-the-counter through some select payment centers such as 7-11, Cebuana Lhuillier and M Lhuillier. There’s a time limit set for each payment option so make sure to settle the payment before it expire. I chose to pay through credit card because it’s the most convenient for me. Then I was directed to the final payment screen with details of the total amount to be paid. I entered my card details and below it is a segment to add the coupon code. I entered the promotion code available that time and was able to get Php1,000 off for my hotel booking. When the final discounted price has been reflected, I clicked pay now.
Receive Hotel Voucher
Once payment is received and confirmed, hotel voucher will be issued. I received mine within 10 minutes. It was also sent to my email. I also got a text message stating my confirmed booking at Privato Hotel. Confirmed booking is also saved at the My Booking section of the mobile app.
That’s it! Now, I’m looking forward to my next staycation with my family. I’m glad that Traveloka made it easier for people like me who are always on the hunt for bargains and exclusive deals. The booking app is straightforward and easy to use. I always have a pleasant experience and never had a problem. With a number of travels coming for me in the next months, I’m sure I’ll be using this app again.
