A Lunch Date at Cafe Lidia
I’ve been fond of going to hole in the wall restaurants/places to dine when I went to Marikina for the first time and had breakfast at Pan de Amerikana. What I love about it is being cozy and the great food in affordable price. One rainy morning, me and sands went to Cafe Lidia for lunch. I’ve read a lot of good reviews about it so I thought of trying it that day.
From Pasig, we rode a jeep going to Marikina. I asked the driver to drop us in Calumpang because I’m not yet familiar with the place. After a couple of minutes passing Ligaya, there it is Bgy. Calumpang. Pagkababa namin ng jeep, naatrasan si sands nung jeep. Adik na driver di nya nakita, buti na lang nakaalis agad siya bago pa sya magulungan. Anyways, she was ok, konting kirot lang daw. Then we rode a tricycle since di pa namin alam kung san ung cafe. And yun naman pla dumadaan din ung mga jeep dun.
When we arrived at the restaurant, isa pa lang ung customer. Syempre order agad kami and picture-picturean. Because I’m still craving for pasta (originated from my SF Jean who went to Banapple last night. hmp!). I ordered spaghetti and sands ordered Tuna Salpicao, plus chocolate dream cake for us.
The food is great as expected, ang sarap ng inorder namin. Mejo maasim ung pasta sauce (syempre may real tomato) and may pagka-spicy which is gusto ko. The Tuna Salpicao tastes like adobo. Ang sarap kaya nakikipag-agawan ako sa food ni sands plus fresh vegetables yung salad, you can taste na malutong ung veggie. For the cake, hindi sya super tamis but I like it. Next time I’ll try their pizza and cafe latte.
It was past noontime and there are already people coming in for lunch. We left the place because sands needs to go to her work already.
