Before the year ends, I’ll be starting to blog my previous trips this year. To start with is my Zambales Trip with my best friend. It was our first time to travel together and we’re excited. We made research on how to go and possible itineraries and contacts to Zambales. It was my best who found out this blogger Chyng who had her Island hopping to Anawangin, Nagsasa Cove and Capones Island. So we contacted Mang Johnny (0920.222.4687). Thanks to Chyng and her blog served our guide to our trip.
Last January 30 around 03.30 AM, me and my best met at 7-11 and headed to Victory Liner to catch the 05.00 AM bus trip to Iba Zambales. We arrived at San Antonio around 09.00 AM and rode a tricycle going to Pundaquit. From there, we met out boatman Mang Johnny who is truly kind and accommodating. Since we don’t have a tent, we rented a tent from him.
Our island hopping includes Camara Island, Anawangin Cove, Nagsasa Cove and Capones Island. We first went to Camara Island. Because of excitement we forgot to change our clothes and we’re not yet prepared to soak, thus we ended up wet. We roamed the island and took some pictures then we headed to our next destination, the Anawangin Cove.
Most of the people are staying at Anawangin Cove. But since we’ll be staying overnight at Nagsasa Cove we only lend an hour to explore the place. The place is good because of the mountains and trees despite of numerous campers.
Me and best tried to look for the lagoon that Chyng mentioned on her blog. And there it is, the water is cold. Sarap magtampisaw.
Me and best went farther from the lagoon to take more pictures but it’s already creepy and scary so we headed back.
Since it was already lunch time, we’ve decided to move on to our next destination, Nagsasa Cove. It is a bit far from Anawangin Cove. It took us an hour to go there, but it was worth it. I love the mountains and the beach. It was peaceful and calm. I was a thousand miles away from stress! 😉
It was my first time and a dream to camp. We set up our tent and Mang Johnny prepared grilled bangus plus riped mango on the side. Sarap! Since Mang Johnny needed to go home for a special family occasion tomorrow, he left us in the island and will just fetch us before noontime. Bait talaga ni Mang Johnny, inaccomodate pa din kami kahit may occassion sa kanila.
Me and best relaxed for a moment. I got dozed off and woke up around 5:00 PM. We explored the place and took pictures again, and since we want to have a bon fire later at night, we roamed and get some woods.
And the bon fire was successful with the help of the alcohol and spray! Lol. We had century tuna and sausage for dinner. After dinner, we had vodka, chips and marshmallow burned in fire. Ang sarap pla, it melts in our mouth! Best was scared because of the insect na naririnig namin that night (I forgot the name).
It was cold that night. The wind is blowing and it was a bit scary because one moment baka masira tent namin. Anyways, we decided to sleep. First time to sleep at the tent! Yey!
Good Morning Nagsasa Cove! My back is aching, but it was OK because of the nice view when I get out from the tent. Sarap ng gising! Beach…! It’s swimming time.
Mang Johnny fetched us around 10.00 AM and we moved on to our last island tour, the Capones Island. The island is famous because of its light house. According to Mang Johnny, there are two entry points going to the Capones Island, one will took us an hour or more trek going to light house and the second one is only reachable when the wave is smaller. Since it’s not wavy during our trip, doon kami sa pangalawang entry point. Mejo mabato ung seabed before reaching the shore so mejo delikado. From there, it took us a 30 minute walk going to light house. It was old and a nice place for picture taking.
After an hour we left the island and went back to Pundaquit. Mang Johnny invited us to their house so we can change our clothes and have lunch. May binyagan/birthday ata sa house nila plus we were surprised that it was also Mang Johnny and his wife’s wedding anniversary. His family is so hospitable and kind.
It was a fun trip. A good start of my travel this year plus meeting a good hearted man who took care of our island tour.
We arrived Manila around 9:00 PM and I got a text message from Mang Johnny asking if we were already home. Such a caring person, Mang Johnny! Thanks!
