Surf’s Up Bagasbas Beach

Camarines Norte is also known for the surfing and kite boarding spot, as it has a long stretch of beach in Bagasbas. It became a local accredited surfing spot due to the attention it has gotten from the surfing community. It is considered as one of the best surfing sites in the Philippines. Bagasbas is 4 KMs away from Daet, so from Daet Centro you can ride a tricycle going to Bagasbas, with PHP 10.00 fare per passenger and PHP 50.00 for special trip. The ride normally takes 10 – 15 minutes.

The beach doesn’t have the white and powdery sands. The weather was good for surfing and the waves were nice too, surf’s up!

The beach is not typical for those who just wants to relax and feel serene. It was a beach meant for party and surfing! But if loud music and crowded place seems peaceful and relaxing to you, then go Bagasbas Beach!

Bagasbas Beach 2

The beach seems to look like the long stretch of San Diego beach in California. Unlike Mahabang Buhangin, the beach is crowded. That’s what it gets when the beach is just 4 KMs away from the city!

There are also available cottages, resorts and restaurants nearby so there’s no need to worry with regards to accommodation and food. Surprisingly, the beach has a wi-fi too, though I wasn’t able to connect that time, it seems unavailable.

If you’re up for surfing, there are surf board rentals and beginner’s lesson available at the area. It normally costs PHP 200.00 for surfboard rental. Since it was just an errand and not part of our itinerary, we were unable to try surfing, maybe next time I will! 🙂

Though I haven’t really experienced the beach of Bagasbas and its strong waves for surfing, it seems fun! The trip seems short for us yet it was nice seeing the Bagasbas Beach. Let’s go surfing next time! Anyone?
