Break-Time at Mom & Tina’s Bakery Cafe

Since it is only occasional that I go on mid-shift at work, I make it to a point to spend sometime eating at restaurants or fast food aside from the usual lunch places like Jollibee, McDo and KFC. Last time, I asked my office mate if she can join me to have dinner at Mom and Tina’s Bakery Cafe. I knew this restaurant since then. They have two branches, one in Pasig City along E. Rodriguez avenue near Tiendesitas and the other branch is at Makati City along Dela Rosa St., Legaspi Village. I’ve read from their site that they are opening a new branch soon at Katipunan.

The bakery cafe offers traditional home cooked meals and fresh out of the oven pastries and baked goodies.

The place is welcoming and cozy. They have couch wherein you can sit back and relax as you wait for your food to come. I’ve read good reviews about Chicken Spinach Lasagna so that’s what I’ve ordered, and it took 10 – 15 minutes before my goodies arrived.

And here’s my food, the Chicken Spinach Lasagna served with Garlic Cheese Rolls.

For PHP 160, enjoy the layers of chicken and tomato, and cream sauce with homemade spinach lasagna pasta. If you’re a pasta lover, you’ll really enjoy this one. Since my office mate is not that really hungry, she only ordered coffee and desserts. We ordered Mango Cream Pie and Strawberry Cheesecake.
Cream pie filled with fresh Philippine mangoes for PHP 65 (solo) and rich cheesecake topped with strawberries for PHP 75 (solo). The strawberry cheesecake was good, but the mango cream pie was better. I enjoyed it a lot compared to the strawberry cheesecake. Aside from these two, there are also bar, pastries, cakes, mini-cakes, cupcakes, and desserts. Looking on these desserts make me craved for some more.
Sometimes after our Friday night-shift, we eat-out and have breakfast somewhere near the office. Mom & Tina’s also serve breakfast, the bakery cafe is open at 7:00 AM until 10:00 PM. We went to the bakery cafe at 6:30 AM but it was still closed but the staff was kind enough to accommodate us. The only available menu during breakfast are breakfast and sandwiches, desserts and cakes are available anytime.
And here’s our food.
Tuna Salad Sandwich – Tuna and cheese with mayonnaise and pickles, tomato and cucumber in a sesame seed or whole wheat bun. Served with potato. For only PHP 125.
US Beef Tapa – Crispy strips of marinated beef served with achara, egg, garlic rice and vinegar. For only PHP 185.

Tocino & Egg – Tocino served with egg, rice and vinegar. For only PHP 190.

And here’s my order, German Sausage & Egg.

German Sausage & Egg – Grilled all meat sausage served with egg, rice and stone ground mustard. For only PHP 215.

Because the meal was so expensive, dapat lang masarap toh! And it doesn’t fail me after all, the sausage is really good plus the sauce.

But from all the meals I’ve tried (syempre nakitikim ako sa mga kasamahan ko ng food nila), the one I really enjoyed is the Tuna Salad Sandwich. 🙂

All in all, you should try this bakery cafe and taste their savory and home cooked goodies. It is the intimate goodness of home-cooked meals and pastries prepared in their home kitchen combined with a desire to provide a cozy, laid back, welcoming and accessible venue.

  3. whahaah! meron ka palang entry dito!

never tried spinach lasagna. Ang favorite ko dyan yung Paella, Shepherd's Pie, Chicken Alexander. Sa dessert naman mango trifle nung meron pang ganun. ewan ko kung bakit tinanggal.

Anyway, yan lang ang resto na kahit ano orderin, you can never go wrong. Lahat talaga masarap at sulit. Feeling ko dati pang mayaman lang siya. Hindi ko binabalak pumasok. Marami kasi celebrity. I never thought na cheap lang ang food.
