Airline Food: A Treat On-Board

Me, my family together with my cousin went to a travel last weekend. We are all supposed to fly on the same time when suddenly Cebu Pacific cancelled my cousin’s flight. The next available flight will still be the next day; and with no better options left; I asked the airline reservation officer to re-route my cousin’s flight to the nearest airport from the original one and so he did.

My cousin’s flight has been rerouted with a new schedule which is 4 hours behind our flight. The airport is also 2 hours away from our destination but good thing the airline provided a free transfer. With those things happened to my cousin’s flight I asked her to order anything on-board and I’ll pay for it. I know only food can make her happy atleast after all the hassles Cebu Pacific has created, so I wanted to treat her. But more than anything else I actually wanted her to order in-flight meals and food during her flight and rate those food accordingly. ๐Ÿ˜€

My cousin ordered Ham & Cheese Croissant and Corned Beef Pandesal. She also ordered the in-house cold milk tea which she has been wanting to try to. In fact, when I told her that I’m going to treat her on-board, she kept on telling me that she wanted to try that cold milk tea and so I granted her craving with that with my on-board treat to her.

Funny thing though about how the cabin crew looks like when my cousin ordered those food and drink during the flight. My cousin told me that it feels like that the cabin crew couldn’t believe that she ordered all of those. So unusual for a flight? Well, if you can see how big (not really that big) my cousin is there should be no more doubt about it. I’m telling she can finish all of those in no time. ๐Ÿ˜€

And here’s how she rated her experience eating some the airline food on-board the Cebu Pacific flight from a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest).
Value for Money – 8

The price of the food is above the market price yet it’s still reasonable enough because it can be bought readily inside the plane. You can instantly grab some snack when you feel hungry during the flight.

Taste – 6

The ham & cheese croissant tasted salty while the corned beef pandesal wasn’t that warm and tasted uncooked.

Presentation – 4

The ham & cheese croissant and corned beef pandesal has been compressed because of it’s packaging which should be placed in a better and hard packaging.

Menu Choices – 4

The Cebu Pacific’s menu generally consists of bread, cup noodles and chips. There’s no variety on it. The menu only focuses on adult needs and taste. They should also offer something for kids like sweets.

After she gave me the rating about the food, it feels like my cousin still enjoyed what she had ordered during the flight. Well, I can say my on-board treat to her somehow made her forget about the stress and hassle caused by her canceled flight.
