A Glimpse of the Undersea World of El Nido

El Nido is not only about beautiful limestone cliffs, pristine islands and stunning beaches, it is also home to a nice underwater scenery. It may not be as challenging and diverse as what Coron has but certainly, the water beneath the surface of El Nido also gives an absolute underwater experience.

It was during our island hopping tour A & C when we were able to have a glimpse of what El Nido could offer beyond its stunning islands and beaches. We were able to see what’s underneath the surface when we stopped for lunch at Talisay beach and visited for a quick snorkeling experience at Shimizu Island.

Let’s put these free snorkeling gear and fins from Northern Hope Ticketing and Island Tours in use.

Talisay Beach

Usually a spot where most of the tours stop to spend their lunch, this island is definitely more than that. This island is a good place to spend an hour or more, exploring the underwater with its corals and fish.

Big Lagoon

Since we went to this area when it’s already low tide, we were able to get off from our boat to explore its surroundings. Sea urchins can be found in the area, mostly on the side parts of the lagoon. There are also some corals that you don’t even have to go underwater to see them.

Shimizu Island

If there’s one spot from our tour that really surprised me, then it’s Shimizu Island. The water is clear; the fish are abundant in this area making it a nice spot to go snorkeling.

An underwater experience wouldn’t be complete without goofing around with your companions through a couple of underwater shots.

El Nido is also a haven for diving. There are sites in the area of Matinloc island, Miniloc Island and Bacuit Bay that are said to be a great place for diving and underwater activities.

Hi. May I ask what camera you used for the underwater shots? I'm in the market for one. Thanks!
